Fall is almost here and I'm already feeling content with my wardrobe. It could be due to the fact that I'm now living in the suburbs and my lifestyle has changed quite a bit. I no longer work a full time job in Midtown, going from work to an event, to a late night dinner downtown. Nowadays, I fill my days with shopping, running errands, working out or writing in my at home office.
Whatever my lifestyle or budget, I always invest in transitional basics and classic pieces. For example, Chanel ballet flats are a staple in my wardrobe. I've gone through two pairs now and I'm already considering buying a third. I wear them year round with denim, dresses, and even leggings post-workout class.
Leather pants are also another great investment. I have owned a pair of Helmut Lang 5-pocket leather skinnies for going on three seasons now. At the time they were a fraction of my monthly rent, but they've become my favorite pant of choice in the colder months, and they only get better with age.
