spring/summer beauty

Twice a year I update my look and beauty routines. I love the feeling of starting a new season with a fresh haircut and new skincare. I also love the challenge of finding new products and techniques that work best for my skin, face and hair.

Yesterday I chopped off my 3" of hair, a biannual ritual I do every spring and fall. I asked my stylist for a blunt, shoulder-length cut that is easy to wash, dry and go. In recent months I have been wearing my long hair pulled back in a low bun. It's always been my go-to style, but I'm ready for a change, or at least the option to wear it down without effort.

As for beauty, I don't wear that much makeup as is, especially during the warmer months, so my focus right now is clean, chemical-free skincare. I'm currently loving REN anti-redness serum (it does wonders for those with rosacea-prone skin like myself) and Tata Harper clarifying moisturizer — I use both daily followed by sunscreen. Sunscreen is the most important step, and a product I'm constantly experimenting with. My dermatologist recently turned me onto this SPF 50 facial sunscreen by Solar Sciences (that also doubles as a base primer), and I highly recommend it. Lastly, to conceal any redness or imperfections my favorite concealer is RMS beauty 'un cover-up' for its organic ingredient list and moisturizing, flawless finish.
