summer essentials

I have recently been living out in the Hamptons, feeling relaxed and at my place where I feel most happy. Since being out east, I haven't been thinking about outfits I want to shoot, checking my Instagram feed, or thinking about working out. In reality, I wore the same outfit as yesterday, opened Instagram once, and my daily steps involved walking to Sant Ambroeus for gelato.

Most of my time has been spent in the sun and sea, and my vitamin D deficiency is no longer. My best days start with morning laps in the pool and end with afternoon swims in the ocean, followed by evening walks on the beach and cooking dinner at home in my swimsuit (usually pasta or fresh seafood from the market).

So what have I been wearing? A lot of one piece bathing suits (which double as the perfect bodysuit), long skirts and easy dresses (and a lot of SPF 60!). When I'm not barefoot, I live in these sandals, that pull together any casual outfit, or these flip flops and use a vintage straw tote that goes with me just about everywhere. I have also been loving my hair wet, undone or air-dried, and no makeup, with the exception of browslip tint and my favorite face sunscreen. Can summer please stay forever? See below for all of my S/S 2018 essentials.

Net-A-Porter sale

It's that time of year. The biannual Net-A-Porter sale! Navigating a major sale like Net-A-Porter's can be a bit overwhelming, and you'll notice your wishlist will start to sell out before you even finish browsing the shoe section. So after years of shopping this sale, I've learned a few shopping strategies that help me find exactly what I'm looking for.

no. 1  search by designer

I always sort by designer. I begin by opening tabs of my favorite designers like KhaiteTotême, Protagonist and Maison Margiela. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, this immediately narrows down my search to 10-20 items at a time so I know exactly what is on sale. This is my favorite and most-efficient shopping method.

no. 2  search by categories

I also like to open tabs of my favorite products — denim, shoes and outerwear. I find these three categories sell out the quickest, and are usually the most discounted at 40-50% off. Also, you can never have too many jeans, shoes or jackets, right? Lastly, I know my size in all of the above so this makes it even easier by limiting my search by size.

no. 3  search for specific items

My last method is to search for specific colors, fabrics or one-off items that I have been wanting or needing. Example: are you looking for a navy cashmere knit? That Altuzzarra pearl headband as seen on the runwayJennifer Fisher gold hoops? Black satin mules? Easy.

Good luck and happy shopping!

my sale picks:

sweater weather

Sweater weather is almost here so now is the time to take inventory of your warm and cozy knits. Every year I like to invest in a few high-quality sweaters that I know will stand the test of time. When I invest I look to The Row for cashmere (the most luxurious cashmere you'll ever wear!) and Acne for wool, and when I want to save I go to COS, H&M and Zara — all ideal for merino wool and mohair blends.

So to avoid filling your closet with a dozen turtlenecks or one too many black sweaters, I've listed below the six knit styles that you'll need (and that are worth investing in) for this upcoming fall and winter seasons.

Shopbop sale

Shopbop is having a three day only sale (September 27th through September 29th), offering 25% off all orders over $500, or 20% off all orders under $500. Just about everything is eligible (including full-price and sale items) for a discount with the code EOTS17Don't miss out — now is the perfect time to stock up on all of your fall and winter needs.

When navigating any sale site, the first thing I check out is the shoe selection. Over the summer I purchased my first pair of Trademark mules, and not only are they comfortable, but they make such a welcomed statement. I've had my eye on these darling crocodile mules since last February so I have a feeling they might end up in my shopping cart (or perhaps these eel skin booties). I also love these leather loafers as a Gucci alternative and these crocodile mules (can you tell I love crocodile embossed?) that can be worn with just about anything in my wardrobe.

Levi's denim jacket, Ganni t-shirt, Frame trousers and Ferragamo loafers.

Next is denim. Shopbop offers a great selection of denim brands, but Re/Done jeans rarely go on sale so act quick. This is my favorite style for fall because the fit and wash make them so versatile, and for an affordable alternative, this style has always been a staple in my closet.

As for knits, it's all about cashmere. This basic black cardigan is currently in my shopping cart, and I also love this oversized cardigan (available in navy and camel) that I could see myself wearing all season long.

Tibi trench coat, Equipment turtleneck, MIH jeans and Trademark ankle boots.

Lastly, handbags. I'm into the 90s-throwback furry bag trend right now, and this one and this one (with the detachable fur, genius) are so cute. But if you are looking for a classic black bag, I love this bucket bag, this mini shopper tote and this little box bag — all perfect for everyday, work or travel.
