what to wear

what to wear: March days

March is always unpredictable. One day it feels like spring, the next day winter. So for the in-between days that lay ahead, I always rely on this easy uniform — a lightweight jacket (this quilted balero is on my shopping list), a simple button down, black cropped pants and a new spring flat (no more boots!).

what to wear: Christmas

This year my husband and I will be hosting Christmas at our house, where we'll be hosting our parents and siblings under one roof. With so much to do and so little time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I made sure to shop my holiday looks well in advance.

This season I chose two festive and versatile separates: this Staud bustier top with faux-fur sleeves and a silk midi skirt by The Row that I scored on major sale. These pieces have gotten plenty of wear — friend's holiday parties, his work party, and soon Christmas mass and dinners.

How I approach holiday dressing is to welcome comfort but aim to turn heads. I, personally, prefer separates over dresses for sake of versatility. Wide leg trousers or a silk skirt, for example, allows more practical shoe options like a comfortable mule or ankle boots. Lastly, nothing says the holidays quite like a red lip. I don't do one often, but when I do it's during the holiday season. My holy grail red is Chanel's Allure Rouge Intense Longwear in 'Pirate' — a classic red with blue undertones that works on all skin types. what to wear: September days

As summer ends, and September begins, I'm always a little excited to bring out my fall wardrobe. September might be my favorite month of all — it's like the start of a new year and new beginnings. Transitional dressing is also in full effect, and you can still get away with wearing your favorite summer slides and creamy white separates. Below is my dream outfit, ideal for a cool, Indian summer day in the city.
