the fall 17 edit

This season my fall wardrobe is as minimal as ever. Back in September, I did a big closet clean-out by ridding any last season basics that I no longer wear or want to update and replace. Since then I have been slowly filling my closet back up, but with the current hot-and-cold weather I'm still holding on to a few late summer pieces, too.

As always, structured blazers, turtlenecks and tapered denim are my wardrobe staples. This season I've added a few new staples but with modern updates, like a turtleneck bodysuit or an oversized printed check blazer. I also always rely on trench coats, which act as the perfect transitional piece when you're not sure what to wear on a October (or April) 70-something degree day.

My favorite shoe of the season? Combat boots — but worn right, in a not so obvious way. Due to my strong love of 90s minimalism, and of course anything The Row, I recently purchased these distressed silk combat boots and they 100% inspired my wardrobe for the upcoming season ahead. I think they're the perfect dichotomy of sophisticate and cool-girl, and I couldn't be more in love with them. To get a similar look these or these are also great affordable options.
