Next week I'm off to the dreamy Amalfi Coast. I'd be lying if I said I haven't been shopping for months in preparation for this trip. Whenever I go on vacation I invest in a few new pieces that help inspire my upcoming travel wardrobe. However, I've been prepping for this trip for awhile so I should probably hide my credit card until Labor Day.
The backdrop of the Amalfi Coast is rich in vibrant colors so I'm definitely feeling a little inspired to have fun and play up my otherwise neutral wardrobe. As of late, I've been into shades of marigold, cream, and even rust — and I'm very big on comfort so anything linen, lightweight, or easy, breezy has caught my eye.
So, how do I pack for four cities in two weeks? A lot of mixing and matching. I plan on bringing only a few pairs of comfortable shoes that will pair well with everything that I plan on packing (and I'll be sure to pick up a pair of bespoke leather sandals while on Capri!).
Secondly, I purchased a few new dresses and kaftans that I love, but I mainly focused on chic, loose-fit trousers and high-waisted skirts so they can double as both daytime and nighttime looks. For example, a skirt paired with a one piece swimsuit and leather slides by day, and a silky or knit tank and espadrille wedges by night.
Lastly, when it comes to accessories I plan on keeping things simple. I will be bringing one small and one large straw tote, a wooden clutch, two pairs of sunglasses and three pairs of statement earrings. This way, again, everything can be easily mixed and matched. The less time you spend thinking (about what to wear), the more fun you'll have.
